One of the more interesting “books” in my library, this is a replica Fuji photographic paper box containing 119 postcard size prints. The prints come bound along a single seam with elastic tape, but can be separated easily. The collection is composed of (what was back in 2011) previously unpublished work. The photographs date from early in Araki’s career, around 1965, when he was still employed at advertising agency Dentsu. They were first shown at the Taka Ishii Gallery in Tokyo in February 2011.
I recently bought a new scanner, so thought I would put it to good use. Enjoy!
