I really do like the idea of personal luxury - something intimate, something subtle. It is like having your own personal secret, something between you and the garment. Whilst fashion is a social phenomenon, dress is a deeply intimate art, and so for me (as for most others) it is always about the garment in hand. Luxury in fashion is for me not something that is simply visual, it is something that is in the very wearing of the garment. A soft lining, a hidden print, a subtle drape, a quirky detail - something that you have to be close (or even simply wearing) to notice. Something about Branquinho's work always made me want to get closer, but it never shouted for my attention, it simply caught it and drew me gently in. It is a feeling that is unfortunately most difficult to describe, but I do hope you are able to understand, even if only a little, where I am coming from with the help of these images.
